The Arborealists were formed in 2013 by curator and artist Tim Craven after the critical success of Under the Green Wood: Picturing the British Tree, an exhibition at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery showcasing a great diversity of art practice centred around the subject of the tree.

There are now 36 artists and 9 associate artists in the group with an extensive track record of exhibitions and publications.
