Outdoor sketch developed further in studio, charcoal, ink & chalk

This native black poplar is a male maiden by a remaining section of canal in Aylestone Park. Alas it was felled by the Council in February 2026, apparently due to a weak root ball. My own view is that it could have been topped and supported rather than felled, given how rare these trees now are.
